The Cristine Meredith Miele Foundation funds research focused on risk assessment and early detection of breast cancer. Detecting breast cancer early, before it metastasizes, results in significantly higher chances for survival. By helping advance risk assessment and early detection efforts, it’s our hope that we can help women live longer, more peaceful lives.
To defeat breast cancer through awareness, research, and prevention.
How are we different?
Early detection of breast cancer is critical, as most early stage breast cancers are curable. We are committed to promote early detection for women in our community. We want women, especially those at high risk for the disease, to be able to receive all of the genetic testing available.
Because family history plays such an important role in a woman’s risk for breast cancer, genetic testing can be an integral part of early detection. We help women whose family history puts them at high risk for developing breast cancer by supplementing funds for further genetic testing, especially for women who are BRCA negative.
Where does your money go?
Due to our minimal overhead and administrative costs, 90-95% of donations received go directly toward funding The Parker Family Health Center’s Women’s Breast Health Initiative. Our staff is 100% volunteer. Thank you for joining and supporting our efforts. Together, we can make a difference!
